When we were looking for the face for GemRock collection, we knew we wanted a cool girl who is edgy with a little wild side. But, she must also be lovable and personable. It sounded almost impossible as we started the search for the It Girl. Just as time was running out, a friend introduced us to Bryn Newman of Stone Fox Style. Immediately we thought “she is it!”
We had a blast getting to know Bryn on the photoshoot day, and the photos turned out beautiful. Needless to say, the rest is history.
Bryn recently did a feature about Rail814 and GemRock on Stone Fox Style. She also summarized the essence of Rail 814 perfectly. Check out the entire blog here.
We chatted up with Bryn about her style and some fashion advice, here is our little Q&A:
[RAIL 814]: On your most recent travel to Mexico and Lake Tahoe, you posted a few summer and winter styling ideas on your blog and Instagram. What was the one item in your suitcase that you could not live without while you were in Mexico, and while you were in Lake Tahoe?
[Bryn]: I would definitely have to say it's my eye mask (she recommends Sephora Collection Eye Mask). I’d also bring layering pieces like a dress, or long sleeve turtleneck that I can wear under a bodysuit or with shorts and jeans.
Check out her blog on “one dress two climates” to see how she transformed her dress from summer to winter.

Bryn on her recent trip to Sayulita, Mexico. We love her Mara Hoffman Lattice Weave Cami Bikini Top paired with a simple white skirt. Learn more about her time in Sayulita in her blog post here.
[RAIL 814]: You said when you just started blogging years ago, your mom input some styling ideas, too. What would you say is a classic fashion style that stood the test of time? Perhaps suggest a timeless style of cloth that everyone should invest in?
[Bryn]: Leather. I loved that I could raid my mom's closet in high school and find the coolest vintage leather boots and jackets.
[RAIL 814]: Working for Le Tote, you must be basked in beautiful cloth everyday. What do you suggest for someone with an overwhelming closet but still feels that she has nothing to wear?
[Bryn]: Ha! Getting a Le Tote subscription! It helps you reduce consumption and having that need to buy buy buy! Now you can have variety without the clutter and help the environment by not purchasing fast fashion goods. I think it's important to constantly do closet cleanouts and if you ever feel like you NEED a trend, give it a few weeks – the feeling will pass.
You will find many of the pieces she styles with on her blog are actually from Le Tote! Check out her post on One Day in Austria and how she utilized Le Tote to help her be ready for the cold weather!
You will be seeing more of Bryn with Rail 814 x GemRock.
